Major FunctionThe Deputy Landscape Manager will lead the overall implementation of wildlife work in Dawna Tenesserim landscape (DT) and oversee and lead on key cross-cutting initiatives and projects of the landscape programme. This position will involve engaging with key stakeholders, strengthening their capacity, implementing programme activities in partnership, managing complex relationships, fundraining, and increasing awareness on wildlife conservation.Biodiversity SurveysMajor ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all aspects of biodiversity surveys in DT, including camera trap surveys, wildlife monitoring units, e-DNA, community based surveys (bird and fish).Wildlife ProtectionLead and manage all aspects of managing wildlife protection in DT. This includes SMART patrols, capacity building and handholding, protection planning, data analysis, and report generation.Illegal Wildlife TradeLead all aspects of containing illegal wildlife trade in DT.And management responsibilities.The detailed job description is at https://www.wwf.org.mm/en/myanmar_career_page/RequirementsMaster’s or higher degree or other relevant qualification in zoology, biology, wildlife conservation, or related fieldsExcellent understanding of species and landscape conservation challenges and opportunities in Myanmar and/or mainland AsiaAt least 5 years of practical experience as a field biologist in Myanmar and/or mainland Asia, and especially in designing and undertaking wildlife and other biodiversity surveys, law enforcement and illegal wildlife tradeProven experience in managing complex external relationships including with government, and local communitiesExperience in managing projects and high performance teamsExperience in donor liaison, fund raising, and proposal writingGood understanding of how wildlife, forest and sustainable agriculture fit together in biodiversity conservation at landscape levelFluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Myanmar or Karen language will be an assetKnowledge of GIS and SMART patrol tool will be a distinct advantageClosing Date: 7 th December 2020 (Monday)Interested candidates should send a cover letter and curriculum vitae stating the position title and reference number in English by email to [email protected]
