The company is a leading Microfinance (MFI) institution operating across Myanmar. Offering vertical integration with a noted parent company, it offers a number of innovative loan products designed to offer commercial support and financial inclusion across the agricultural sector. Led by an international management team, the organization is growing rapidly, consisting of multiple country-wide branches and close to 300 employees whilst offering a culture of innovation, very strong local and international training and development and long-term career development. The company has significant growth plans over the coming years as it aims to become both an employer and financial institution of choice. A number of key hires will be made throughout 2020 including the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer to strategically drive the company’s financial performance.
Based in Yangon, the appointed individual will report to, and closely work with, the CEO and the Group CFO. The CFO will drive overall performance of company to satisfy shareholder expectations. In addition, to overseeing the accounting, internal control, financial reporting, management reporting and month end closing, the successful candidate will be involved in the strategic growth of the business and which will include annual business planning, treasury management, loan pricing, commercial negotiations, cash management controls, IRR/ROI, Corporate Governance and the provision of strategic insights to the senior management team and Board of Directors. As a senior leader, the appointed individual will be required to drive process improvements whilst also training, coaching and mentoring the Accounting and Finance team to raise functional capability to international standards. There will be a need lead ad hoc projects (such as expansion planning) and ensure that the local team is trained, coached and mentored to international standards of execution. The company is highly dynamic and its phenomenal growth is set to have it positioned as a top 5 MFI institution in the country within the next 1-2 years. As such the CFO must be able to support the growth and be able to take on additional responsibilities and challenges.
To succeed in this role, interested candidates should hold a good Accountancy/Finance Degree with at least 10+ years of relevant experience with 5 years in a similarly strategic role (CFO/Deputy CFO/Finance Director). Candidates must be a proven negotiator and be able to demonstrate prior experience of having supported a company through a period of massive growth. The role requires candidates with strong experience in the end-to-end of financial stewardship including financial modelling, treasury management and Board-level reporting and presentations.
