Director of Business Development, JAPAC

As the Director of Business Development organization for Japan & Asia Pacific (JAPAC), you will be responsible for working with Sales, Marketing and Operations leadership to help design and execute HubSpot’s Sales Development go to market strategy for the region. Key to this will be deeply understanding our customers, finding and developing BDR talent, and fostering a healthy, diverse, inclusive and high performing culture.

In This Role, You’ll Get To

  • Intimately understand HubSpot customer personas to build a Go To Market plan and engage customers how they want in the market
  • Partner with members of the Sales and Marketing teams to build beautiful, frictionless and efficient engagement processes
  • Support, develop and grow BDR Managers into the next generation of HubSpot Sales and Management talent
  • Lead departmental (BDR) annual planning for JAPAC, including headcount, recruiting, enablement, and target setting
  • Foster a strong coaching culture within the BDR Managers to effectively develop their BDRs to their full potential within and beyond their roles.
  • Create a vibrant and healthy culture that is high performing, diverse, inclusive and fun.
  • Design and run an operating model that delivers the quantity and quality of pipeline needed to exceed targets and expected performance metrics.
  • Refine the playbook for lead and pipeline management to drive best-in-class conversion against demand while also refining the playbook for new demand generation
  • Look for new ways to raise the bar in terms of talent, execution, process design, goals, and incentives
  • Be part of the global sales executive team and influence key strategic decisions for the HubSpot sales org

We Are Looking For People Who Have

  • A deep understanding of customer values, needs, and goals to design sales processes which solve for customers first
  • Experience creating a diverse and inclusive team environment that fosters trust and a sense of empowerment via a purposeful culture
  • Experience working cross-functionally on strategic projects aimed at driving sales growth and productivity improvement, especially on “tip of the spear” campaigns aimed at prospects with 25-1,000 employees
  • A successful track record as an Account Executive and both a 1st and 2nd line leader of BDRs and/or Account Executives
  • A strong track record of overachieving sales targets in a high velocity, high growth business focused on businesses with 25+ employees
  • A proven playbook and strong track record of turning BDRs into high performing Account Executives
  • A consistent track record of hiring, developing, and mentoring successful teams
  • Previous experience working in software, IT and/or SaaS industries and, ideally, a Freemium business model
  • A motivator who has experience leading teams through a difficult role
