Engineering Manager - PLM, CAD Software Engineering Manager

Position: Engineering Manager – PLM, CAD Software

Location: Singapore

Our customers include many prominent enterprises in Aerospace & Defense, High-Tech Manufacturing and Engineering industries.

We’re looking for a Engineering Manager for the PLM/CAD product engineering team to integrate NextLabs’ attribute based authorization platform and the Digital Rights Management (DRM) platform with various PLM and CAD applications. Ideal candidates are those who are passionate about the art and science of software development, possess a strong can-do attitude, and want to be part of a world-class team with a passion for excellence. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a loosely structured organization, and be capable of working on a number of assignments in parallel.

Responsibilities Include

  • Grow and manage a high performance PLM/CAD engineering team
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team on a day to day basis
  • Assist in the technology choice, design and architecture decision. Deliver best in class architecture, solution, and code.
  • Define, design, and develop products and related components in collaboration with NextLabs product management, engineering team(s) and partner
  • Drive the technical engagement with various partners owning the PLM/CAD applications for the integration work
  • Manage interdependencies and integration among multiple teams, and stakeholders, with clear roles and responsibilities, clarity of deliverables and receivables and milestone management
  • Ensure the team follow through NextLabs global engineering development methodologies and processes, improve where necessary
  • Coordinate with other technical teams including the NextLabs Singapore, China and US teams to ensure compatibility with other NextLabs components and deliver as an integrated solution
  • Define software product requirements at a detailed level, product roadmap, and product strategy
  • Work with product managers and engineers to define market winning features
  • Work with engineering to ensure on-time, high-quality product releases
  • Work with UX / UI engineers to build world class user experiences
  • Align integration roadmap, development progress and communicating status to various stakeholders
  • Prioritize work against oriented goals
  • Discover and validate customer and business value
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and interact with customers, partners, and various teams within NextLabs
  • Support sales in strategic customer opportunities, delivering presentations and demonstrations
  • Contribute to product collateral, including brochures, datasheets and Website content


Requirements
  • BE/BS degree in computer science, computer or mechanical engineering from good university with good academic results
  • Strong software engineering skills (8+ years) in core Java based standalone applications, or in C/C++ based Windows applications involving extensive design and coding with at least 3 years of team management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, strong analytical and system thinking to handle big picture and able to coach and guide the team in delivering products
  • Domain expertise in at least one of the areas – PLM applications, CAD applications, Digital Rights Management and Identity Access Management (IAM)
  • Experience in development and/or integration with one of the following - Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia and any CAD application
  • Experience with Windows user mode internals like DDLs, Hooks, NTDLL, USER32, GDI32 is a plus
  • Ability to write detailed PRDs (Product Requirement Documents), software feature specification
  • Leading cross-functional and remote (off shore) teams, managing multiple projects using Agile methodologies
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills – experience working with remote teams – both internal and external
  • Passionate, proactive, great team player
