Finance Director, Emerging Markets East

Background

Reporting to the CFO of the Company and working very closely with the Commercial Director, Emerging Markets East, the Finance Director will be responsible for leading all financial operations in the Emerging Markets East region, including manufacturing sites.

As part of the new Emerging Markets Leadership team, they will play a critical and significant role in the initial strategic planning, and creation of the APAC businesses. This will require detailed process management to enable analysis, planning, preparation, and the seeking of approvals. to enable and implement the approved strategic and tactical plans

Alongside the other members of the Emerging Market East team, they will lead the continued profitable growth of the business in MEA and India and drive the changes that the Company is and will be making to the operational and commercial models.

This is a highly critical role for the Company – the personal drive, attitude and team-spirit of the Finance Director role are essential to the success of the individual. They must act as a true team-player and sparring partner, able to create and develop the vision of the Company. The ideal candidate has a solid international experience.

Role and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage a team of direct reports (number to be confirmed, across various countries).
  • Timely completion and review of monthly financial close and related financial reporting.
  • Provide hands-on, metrics driven financial leadership to help accelerate growth and profitability and support the executive team with operational insight to better manage the business.
  • Overall coordination and oversight of local statutory accounting and reporting for the legal entities, plus reporting associated with network of permanent establishments across the Emerging Markets East region
  • Prepare and lead monthly Business Financial Review (BFR) with the Company’s Executive Management Team, explaining business results compared to budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Development of annual budget and 5 Year Strategic Plan for the Company in the Emerging Markets East region (includes P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Capital Expenditure Plan).
  • Development of monthly forecast for Emerging markets
  • Development and evaluation of capital expenditure proposals, modelling of business case supporting new market initiatives (Services, Digital Product Portfolio expansion, etc…) and analysis of key customer contracts.
  • Oversight of customer pricing and profitability.
  • Overall financial management of the manufacturing site(s), working closely with operations finance to establish proper standard costs and evaluating monthly performance and related KPIs.
  • Manage relationship with internal and external (Deloitte, E&Y) auditors
  • Credit Management, including the creation of customer credit limits.
  • Assure adequacy of internal controls and compliance with Sarbones Oxley (SOX).

Provide insightful and trusted counsel to the VP International Sales & Marketing, the management team and CFO on both broad-based business issues related to the overall performance of the company.

Person Specification

The Finance Director, Emerging Markets East will be a well-rounded, agile whilst structured leader. They must be able to stay calm, under pressure and display confidence around the finance function, which maintains a positive working environment

They must be a commercial oriented Finance Individual, comfortable working with the business and clients in developing commercial propositions whilst guarding the financial integrity of the company.

Confident, ambitious, highly professional, able to interact easily at all levels.

Professional qualifications include:

  • Degree or above in a relevant field, Registered Accountant (CPA equivalent) with experience in US GAAP highly preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience of complex financial management leadership experience in a relevant domain - developing and executing highly effective business strategies and tactical execution plans.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, experience is working within a business using a number of different recurring revenue models (services, pay-per-use, subscription etc) is highly recommended.
  • Track record of providing transparent input to the management team regarding the financial implications of major business decisions.
  • Strong analytical mind-set and operational skillset.
  • A noted problem-solver who is creative and operationally driven; influences business operations and workflow processes.
  • Deep understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and various opportunities to improve performance of the business.
  • Possess the business acumen and broad financial perspective to act as a strategic sounding board to the management team.
  • Strong breadth of skills across Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Negotiations.

Technical knowledge around various IT support systems (Microsoft, SAP, SalesForce.com, etc).
