The Role 👩‍💻

Oyster is growing fast, and we are hiring a Global Expansion Team Lead to help us incorporate our own entities in more countries across the globe. Our aim is to be able to offer the simplest and most flexible solution for both employers and employees.

What You'll Be Doing...

  • Leading the Country Growth team and be responsible for the expansion of Oyster direct footprint
  • Ownership of the Country Growth's performance against company OKRs
  • Support in sourcing and selection of appropriate local in-country partners
  • Managing the corporate set up of Oyster entities across the globe and building the corporate infrastructure for us to be able to employ compliantly country by country
  • Setting up the registrations and processes for the ongoing management of these entities (e.g. compliance, taxation, payroll registrations, bank account openings, etc) and handing this information over to other teams at Oyster
  • Building strategy around bank account openings in multiple countries to support international operations
  • Providing support to Finance on forecasting costs associated with set up and running of entities
  • Working closely with our Legal team to ensure fully robust and compliant business models
  • Working cross-functionally with Oyster teams to ensure country by country learnings are embedded in our operations. Seeking opportunities to recommend improvements cross-functionally and ensure that information learned and recommendations are shared with and filtered to the appropriate teams (including Legal, Finance, Product, and the Country Launch team)
  • Project management for multi-country incorporations status to provide an easy source of reference for the team and other stakeholders at Oyster
  • Updating knowledge bases with country specific information gathered during research and set up phases

Skillsets that are important

  • Experience in international expansion from a legal and employment perspective (for example, entity and payroll set-up, managing local employments rules, international HR, etc)
  • Experience in finding and working with 3rd party vendors (e.g. law firms, accountants, etc) to support international expansion.
  • 4+ years of experience in team management
  • Driven by the social impact mission and desire to use skills to influence global change and employment opportunities
  • First class attention to detail and reasoning with extreme organization and a proven work ethic
  • Comfortable with a high pace work environment
  • Open-minded on doing things differently to how they have typically been done before
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, determination and tenacity, along with a sense of humor
  • Remote-first advocate and passionate about creating change in the future of work landscape

Skillsets That Are Not Required (but Are a Bonus)
