• High Studies/ diploma in Accounting/ Audit or Finance (A Certified Public Accountant credential may be required, (ACCA/ MBA/ CPA or similar)

• Knowledge of Tax Laws and Regulations and to be alert for any occurrence in timely manner

• Minimum of (5) years professional experience in similar function

• Fluent in English and good writing skills

• Ability to work independently and good skill of communicating with other functional departments and Government Authorities

• Maintaining confidentiality


Within the framework of Company, Report to: Finance Manager

Employee directly supervised: 1


Tax related Communication: Meetings/ Workshops/ Seminars

To be focal point for Tax Related communication

To organize required meeting with related parties (both internal and external)

Other Tax related Tasks

To participate in preparation of any Adhoc Problem solving and report immediately to the Management through FIN Manager

To be alert for frequent interaction with the Tax Authorities and MOEE both in tax position of the Company and influencing them for new legislation/regulations being proposed

To advise other departments on Tax issues and discuss with HR department in matters pertaining to personal taxation of local staff and foreign expatriates, if needed


Tax Charter & Procedure

• To ensure that COMPANY, MGTC and other Blocks fulfill tax compliance regulations, external tax reporting and tax related compliance obligations, follow the Group Rules, and Local Laws and Regulations, manage in updating the Tax Procedure/ Guideline and Tax Charter to be in line with Local Tax changes and constraints, to alert/report management on tax strategy by covering overview local Tax Laws and Regulations.

Tax Calculations & Responsibilities

• Corporate Income Tax (CIT)

To validate monthly Actual CIT & Quarterly advance CIT and posting in SAP and estimated Tax data for Cash Call and distribution Surplus to TRE.

• Commercial Tax (CT) and Stamp Duty

To validate entries for 5% CT, prepare Debit Notes to MOGE by checking after getting all required Docs from Technical Assistant in ACC Dept and provide requested CT related info to MOGE. (Actual CT and estimated CT) to MOGE

• Withholding Tax (WHT)

To validate monthly WHT process; posting WHT entries for payment, distribute WHT original slip to suppliers

· Deferred Tax (DT)

To validate DT on monthly basis and related process including data to fill up in CAP Package

• Personal Income Tax (PT)

To validate posting PIT in SAP as per HR info for National Staff o To advise in distribution Doc for Expats PIT slip as per request from Expats after received original slip from U HT Audit

• Reinvestment

To validate process for Reinvestment to be in line with Reinvestment Relief Practice statements issued by Ministry of Planning and Finance

• SOX control

To validate required Docs for TAX related SOX control on quarterly basis

• SAP related jobs

To validate process for Tax part in Vendor Master Creation

Tax Reporting

• To manage the required documents to transparency report both MEITI and HQ disclosure

• To manage for Tax Filing (Annual return) for Corporate Income Tax of both COMPANY & MGTC to LTO

• To manage for Reports/Recommendations to Management on tax risk and tax litigation issues (Adhoc. matters)

• To manage in establishment of any changes of Tax Regulations for both External and Local

• To validate in sending CAP Package for Deferred Tax Calculation to HQ (Sept & Dec of the current Year)

Tax Audits and Internal Controls Corporate Income Tax (CIT)

• To validate monthly Actual CIT & Quarterly advance CIT and posting in SAP and estimated Tax data for Cash Call and distribution Surplus to TRE.

• To manage in preparation and organization the answers given to the LTO office Auditors

• To manage in JV Partners audits, PSC MOGE Audits for Taxation matter

• To manage during the holding of the external audits for Tax Audits in liaison with departments/ division involved


• To ensure good relations with Vendors, good co-operations with other functional departments To maintain good co-operations with Local Authorities, especially with MOGE and IRD, LTO office

• To ensure good protection of the interests/ assets of the Company

• To initiate and report to Management the status of the Implementation of Tax Law & Regulations whenever changes from time to time and need to update with current situation

• To contribute actively to strengthen the internal control on Tax Matters and support to all Divisions and Departments

• To manage in implementation for clear, widely used and efficient Procedures, Policies and TAX Charter

• To maintain good relationship with different Finance Teams and Stakeholders
