Medacross Onlus is recruiting a new medical doctor for its projects in Kawthaung Township. The doctor shall be expected to work in outpatients clinic and Mobile Clinic through the rural areas of the township. He/she will be scheduled to follow the Mobile Clinic visiting calendar, up to 5 days per week (or less, depending on project needs). We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in humanitarian projects to start as soon as possible. Initial contract is for 1 year (with 3 month probation period). This will be extended afterwards, subject to satisfactory performance and following the implementation calendar of Mobile Clinic project.

Essential requirements

  1. Strong inter-personal communication skills
  2. Candidates committing to a long-term career in humanitarian aid will be prioritized
  3. Strong interest and motivation to work in a charity project
  4. Relevant experience working in a developing country and/or humanitarian context 
  5. At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
  6. Ability to work and live with a diverse team
  7. Computer skills
  8. Flexibility and adaptability
  9.  Experience in obstetrics and gynecology
  10. Experience in ultrasound 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • M.B.,B.S degree with valid medical license (SAMA)
  • Pediatrics, obstetric/MCH and on field experience would be considered an asset
  • Good level of English

Detailed List of expected tasks:

  • Assess patients’ conditions both at Kawthaung’s Clinic and while visiting Mobile Clinic sites 
  • Carry out diagnostic tasks and complete medical check-up 
  • General medical care, minor surgical, antenatal care, child health care as a general practitioner and create treatment plans
  • History taking and physical examination
  • Attitude to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
  • Consults with other doctors in case of need for diagnostics or treatment of patients
  • Coordinate diagnostic tests and other services
  • On-call for shifts and emergency
  • Patient record keeping
  • Counseling patients on preventive healthcare practices
  • Proper referrals of the patients who need referral to specialist or tertiary center/hospital
  • Preparing the monthly patient registration report and narrative report to the line manager
  • Any other tasks required by the line manager.
