Job Summary

This position will function as a Lead Offshore Wind and Marine Energy Engineer focused on turbine technology, technical advisor, FEED, systems engineering and detailed design within the Renewable Energy Business at Black & Veatch. With minimal supervision, applies technical knowledge and experience with input to prospects and proposals and delivery of client projects as part of a technical engineering focused team. Expands knowledge and skill set in area of discipline. May start to expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Interface with UK Marine Team leads and team members to develop compatible engineering solutions for projects.
• Undertake and/or lead engineering for clients projects.
• Input to the delivery of renewable energy project developments in accordance with the pre-defined budgets, deadlines and quality requirements.
• Regularly and accurately reporting the status of projects to management.
• Be a key interface and manage the relationship with clients and contractors.
• Add value, avoid/resolve issues, mitigate risks and manage project’s finances and contracts by applying robust project management practices and experience from previous projects.
• Participation to site visits and client meetings.
• Disseminate knowledge and experiences to other team members and supporting the development of the team and team members.

Management Responsibilities

Acts in capacity of a "lead person." Does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction.

• Track record in consultancy, development or engineering projects offshore wind or marine energy in UK or Europe.
• Experience inputting to the delivery of renewable energy project developments in accordance with the pre-defined budgets, deadlines and quality requirements.
• Experience regularly and accurately reporting the status of projects to senior management.

Essential

Essential Qualifications

• Degree in, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent qualification.
• Professional recognition qualification such as Chartered Engineer or working towards.
• Knowledge of relevant offshore standards and testing /verification

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years work experience in offshore wind (fixed or floating) and/or tidal/ wave energy projects and technologies.
• A demonstrable track record of offshore turbine technology activities.
• A demonstrable track record of systems engineering.
• Client facing and interfacing with wider internal team.

Certifications

Professional recognition qualification such as Chartered Engineer or working towards.

Typical office environment: sitting/standing/computer usage for extended periods of time. Speaking/listening. Ability to utilize audio/video conferencing software for internal/external communication purposes.
