Accounting Associate (Payroll/Time and Attendance)


  • Ensure all employees, jobs, schedules, and budgets are properly entered and maintained in an online time-tracking system.
  • Run daily, weekly, and semi-monthly variance reports to ensure all employees are clocking in and out properly.
  • Work with management to bring all employees into compliance with time and attendance guidelines.
  • Prepare semi-monthly payroll
  • Work closely with management to ensure pay rules are applied appropriately, and that all hours, premiums, and deductions are captured and processed correctly.
  • Audit automated timecards by payroll policies, State and Federal Wage and Hour Guidelines, and union labor contracts.
  • Review payroll audit reports and adjust to ensure the accuracy of each employee’s paycheck, deductions, and earnings record.
  • Process checks and sends payroll reports to payroll service
  • Process supplemental timesheets and implement systems and processes to reduce the need and frequency of such timesheets
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of wage and hour regulations, union labor contracts, pay practices, pay types/codes, payroll guidelines, and payroll/HRIS systems.
  • Provide payroll expertise, procedural instruction, and advice to employees and managers regarding payroll, time clocks, timekeeping, and scheduling. Answer questions and resolve complaints. Conduct and participate in training sessions.
  • Research and analyze alternatives for improving processes. Develop “best practice” recommendations by partnering with other team members in examining data and identifying trends.
  • Work collaboratively with team members in accounting, human resources, and the staffing office to research, evaluate and apply rules and union labor contract language to ensure adherence to established pay standards in conjunction with state and federal regulations.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree holder in accounting
  • Minimum of 6yrs work-related experience gained in a BPO or Shared Services or Remote/Online Setup
  • Tech-savvy and highly proficient with the QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Can work independently, reliable and can handle confidential matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Excel
  • Good attention to detail and time management skills
  • Highly Analytical and systematic thinking
  • Ability to work effectively as a part of a team
  • Excellent command of oral and written English
  • Strong email/business communication and presentation skills
