We are the Azure Data team and we are hiring for the Synapse SQL service. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of data structures and algorithms, strong design, excellent coding skills in one or more of C#, C++, Java, Python etc., and experience adapting to and learning new languages, tools and environments. A clear understanding of software development and testing concepts is required. The candidate must have excellent analytical skills and technical competence. The position requires good communications skills and an ability to collaborate with other teams to drive complex features that cross component and organization boundaries. Knowledge of database technologies is a plus.
As a member of the Synapse SQL engineering team, you will be partnering closely with other motivated engineers who have a variety of backgrounds and expertise, to design, develop and ship advanced Query Processing and Self-Tuning functionality. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of software development/design experience.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience in databases, especially on internals.
- Experience developing enterprise-grade products.
- Experience developing cloud services.
